Welcome to Kuna Pelješka – a hidden gem in the heart of the Pelješac Peninsula, where natural beauty, rich cultural heritage, and centuries-old winemaking tradition blend into a truly unique story.
Nestled at the foot of Mount Rota, in the fertile and sun-drenched Kuna field, this enchanting village feels like something out of a fairy tale – peaceful, dignified, and deeply inspiringHere, wine is not merely a drink, but a way of life, and art is woven into everyday existence. The stone houses, rolling vineyards, and quiet country roads echo the spirit of generations of dedicated winemakers. It is in this land that some of Pelješac’s most renowned wines are born – full-bodied, characterful, and rich in aroma, carrying within them the warmth of the sun and the strength of the karst landscape.

Kuna is also the birthplace of the great Croatian painter Celestin Mato Medović, one of the most important representatives of Croatian Modernism. In the very heart of the village, beneath the majestic canopy of a 300-year-old oak tree, stands his monument – an impressive work by the celebrated sculptor Ivan Meštrović. It is a powerful symbol of the meeting between art and nature, a place of reflection and inspiration. Medović’s birthplace, now a memorial house, along with the beautiful Baroque Church of Our Lady of Delorita and the gallery of the Franciscan monastery, houses a collection of his works. A visit to these spaces is a journey through light, colour, and emotion – all inspired by the Pelješac landscape. Every stone, olive grove, and vineyard seems to preserve a fragment of the artist’s vision.
If you choose Kuna as your holiday retreat, you will experience authentic Pelješac – away from the crowds, yet close to everything your heart may desire. And when you feel the call of the sea, take the old winding road down to the northern side of the peninsula, to the small and picturesque village of Crkvice. Once an important harbour for the wine trade, Crkvice was a quiet port from which Pelješac wines set sail to the world. Today, it is a charming and tranquil seaside retreat with only about fifteen houses, where time seems to slow down and the sea is crystal clear. Surrounded by unspoiled nature and rocky shores, it offers the perfect setting for swimming, relaxation, and unforgettable sunsets.

Among the houses stands the elegant early 20th-century summer residence of Celestin Medović – a witness to another era and yet another link between art and this remarkable region. In Crkvice, history, sea, and silence come together to create an atmosphere that captivates at first sight.
Kuna and Crkvice are not just destinations – they are experiences. A place where wine and art meet, where tradition embraces nature, and where peace inspires the soul. Discover Pelješac as it was meant to be – authentic, refined, and irresistibly beautiful.
