Mijo Kovačić is a member of the second generation of the Hlebine school, and he developed his artistic opus alongside Ivan Večenaj and Ivan Generalić.
Through many years of dedicated work, he became one of the most important names in the world of naive art and exhibited around the world. On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Gallery of Naive Art in Hlebine, the Koprivnica Gallery was opened, a representative exhibition space in which it hosted today the only living great of naive painting – Mijo Kovačić.
In collaboration with the author, about 40 permanent works of art were presented in the Gallery. The exhibition space next to the souvenir shop covers an area of 135 m2.
