Each camper must understand that island inhabitant are a special type of people and that life on the island is different and recommended to those that are searching for relaxation and lost peace.
Islands are unique Croatian offers and have no competitors in Europe, with unexploited potential for most European citizens that have not yet had a chance to meet the magic and special natural world in their neighbourhood.
Therefore, all campers-islanders need to know the ethos of living on the islands, their rules, and dimensions suited to the man. Islanders have always been working and thinking of future generations, or, as it is nowadays called, of “sustainable development”. There is no greater challenge for campers to explore special aspects of life on the islands, so similar to what they really need. The greatest treasure of the island is the toughness of families that have lived there for centuries, separated from the mainland and visits of modern nomads, facing down to all troubles of daily life. Islands are places where one has to learn how to live at a special place, different from life in large urban centres.
Each Croatian island and there are over a thousand, has its unique authentic natural structure, position in the sea, relief, climate, flora and fauna. Although Croatian islands went through the troubles of the same civilizations and were conquered by the same conquerors, historians call them “eternal lanterns” on European roads between the Mediterranean and Europe. In that fierce battle on the scarce land seized from the Karst, the magnificent pieces of island stone architecture emerged.
Each island is its own world, a unique combination of land, history and culture. Hence the sea, environment and living atmosphere on islands are of different colours, prominent, deeper, more vivid and inherent to each of the islands. Gentle and quiet, island inhabitants are the major guarantee that campers will be accepted warmly and friendly. The pearls of islands camps are:
