In order to preserve rich geodiversity, biodiversity, landscape and cultural diversity, in November 2019. the area “Risovac-Grabovača” is permanently protected in the category of protected landscape.
Protected landscape RISOVAC-GRABOVAČA covers an area of 5620,72 ha.
The area of protected landscape, except speleological objects and the canyon of the river Lika, is characterized by the elevations of the Lika highlands.

Educational trail Mirko Malez was created in honor of a Croatian pioneer of speleology and connects five caves in the park. Malez was an academic who made first detailed plans of all the caves in the park, back in 1946. While walking through our foresta and meadows, surrounded by untouched nature, you will realise why Mirko Malez was fascinated with the landscape of Grabovača hill.

Educational trail Flora passes through the meadows of Šutića vrh hill into the forest towards caves Medina and Amidžina. Learn something interesting and new about floral world of Grabovača, area of biodiversity full geological features of Dinaric karst relife.

Educational trail Fauna provides some information about protected endangered and NATURA2000 animal species in the park, on a route from souvenire shop towards the cave Samograd.
